Michelle Enright, BA, MA,
Michelle, our practice manager, is living in Co. Clare. She has years of experience of animals as a horse and dog owner. Michelle studied a BA and MA in Irish Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. She also teaches Irish dancing in Scoil Ui Nuallain in Limerick City when she is not managing the team in Clare Street and Shannon Vets.
Dr. Kathy Enright, BSc, BVM&S, MRCVS, Vet
Kathy is a University of Edinburgh graduate and has 12 years’ experience as a vet in the UK, Galway and Dublin. She is delighted to be back living in Limerick with her family and practicing in her hometown. She is an all-round animal lover from horses to dogs, but has a special place in her heart for Rottweilers. Kathy’s special area of interest is soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Bobbi Trifonova, MVM,
Bobby is our head vet at Clare Street Vets, Limerick. She graduated from the highly-regarded Thracian University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in Bulgaria, and now resides on the Cork/ Limerick border. Bobby has a particular interest in dealing with challenging skin and endocrine (hormonal) cases. She loves all creatures great and small, and when not at work, enjoys spending time outside with her family or at the cinema.
Dr. Garrett Teskey, BVM&S, BTECH, Vet
A family man from Ardagh Co. Limerick. Garrett studied Veterinary Medicine & Surgery alongside Kathy at the University of Edinburgh. They have joined forces again to bring quality & professional animal care to the Limerick and Shannon regions. When not at Shannon Vets, Garrett runs a beef farm and provides consultancy services to various industry leaders in cattle breeding and dairy herd health.
Heather Lenharth RVN, Dip Canine Psychology, Vet Nurse
Heather is our head nurse in Clare Street Vets and Shannon Vets and she is an all-round animal lover with a special place in her heart for German Shepherds. Owner of multiple pets, she has adopted everything from cats to ponies over the years. Heather trained and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2011, as well as training in Canine Psychology and Hawk and Owl handling. In fact the only thing that makes Heather nervous are “Daddy Long Legs”. In her spare time, she enjoys mountain hiking with her rescued German Shepherd dogs and rehabilitates hedgehogs from her home. Heather is also experienced in the handling of many animal species including exotics and other wildlife.
Aisling O Donoghue, RVN,
Aisling has fond childhood memories of tending the cows on her neighbours’ farm. That love of animals has been a driving force for Aisling. She volunteered and worked for Limerick Animal Welfare before starting up Limerick Feral Cats with like-minded cat lovers in 2011. The charity has neutered thousands of cats in Limerick. In 2013 she qualified as a veterinary nurse from St. John’s Central College in Cork. Aisling brings her passion for cats into the nursing field, and has completed the ISFM Certificate in Feline-Friendly Practice. She also has a special interest in small furries such as hamsters and rats. Aisling is owned by two cats, Eddie and Joe. She also has a rescue Greyhound called Josie and a Roborovski hamster, Benjen.
Emma Schmid Looney, RVN
Vet nurse Emma graduated from St. John’s Central College in Cork in 2017 and joined our team in July of 2018. She loves small animal practice and has a particular interest in neonatal care. You can usually hear her before you see her as she is usually singing to herself as she does her work around the clinic. That or she’s in the kennels cuddling with our lovely inpatients. Emma loves meeting all the cute furry faces and their owners that visit us here at Clare Street Vets and Shannon Vets.
